1 Competitor - Any Paddle Craft (Includes Scratch Teams, Expression Session & "Big Move")
Description
Individual entries will form "scratch" teams to participate in the team event, as well as the option to enter the Expression Session and "Big Move" comps. The team event will be based on points scored for your team as individual paddlers throughout a series of heats run on the Saturday and Sunday. Points will also be allocated based on your performance on the waves. Each team's starting points will be adjusted for the following factors: Juniors (>18) / seniors (50<) / Female / Non-surf-specific craft / Previous competitive experience / Adaptive. Age categories will be based on participants' age on 9th December 2023. The Expression Session at the Ho Ho Rodeo is an opportunity for paddlers of all craft to showcase their skills free from the normal constraints of surf competition. Great moves and tricks will be rewarded over and above critical riding. And it won't just be your three best waves that count; twenty waves with one trick on each will be compared favourably to someone else who had four longer rides. In the end, the paddler who was the most radical for the whole session will win. Maybe. There will also be a "Big Move" video/photo competition. For this, you may require a beach buddy with a camera, or you can submit POV/GoPro-type material. Shots or footage must be taken during the "Team" or "Expression" rounds, and submitted digitally by 4.45pm Saturday (trust that we will make this possible for all types of cameras), and the judges will choose finalists for a public vote on the big screen Saturday evening.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds (less any non-refundable payment processing fees), will be issued if the event cannot go ahead due to any factors beyond our control. Concession Adult Ticket holders will need to show evidence at registration of eligibility: Full-time students, Recipients of any of the following; Universal Credit, Housing benefit, Income Support, Job Seekers’ Allowance, Working Families Tax Credit, Carers Allowance, Residence permit card with refugee settlement within 1 year of issue date, Application Registration card (ARC) Asylum Seekers within 1 year of issue date, Employment & Support Allowance
